Project Description

The Jacksonville Pet Food Bank

Some underserved families can scarcely afford to feed themselves, let alone their beloved pets. Thanks to this community driven program, we help make it easier for these families to keep pets in homes and out of shelters. The Pet Food Bank has distributed over 1.2 million pounds of food since its inception in 2012.

At the last Pet Food Bank, held on Saturday, December 3, First Coast No More Homeless Pets distributed pet food to more than 250 families in need. But we are struggling to keep up with demand. More families in need are learning about the event, and we have been facing shortages of food. This community driven program relies on donations from our supporters, but with increasing demand we have struggled to secure more donated food. We are also hesitant to advertise the program for fear of increased attendance leading to food shortages.

As a result, we wish to purchase food to expand this program. These funds will allow FCNMHP to purchase food and advertise to more needy families, keeping more pets in homes and out of shelters.

Thank you for supporting our mission to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters. This program is paramount to keeping pets in homes, and without it many families would be forced to relinquish their beloved pets.
