I love WeGive.org - they make it so easy to make a difference. It's also nice to know that each of the organizations on here has been vetted and approved and that my donation is going straight to those in need.

Project Description

Vision Is Priceless provides free vision screenings and free vision exams/specialty care for children and adults in Duval, Baker, Clay, Nassau, and St. John's counties. More than 43,000 individuals are impacted by our programs and services annually. VIP achieves our mission by providing free vision screenings for acuity and early detection of eye disease; access to free eye exams for those who fail the screenings and qualify; and educational information about vision issues and the importance of on-going vision care. Experts estimate that 80% of all learning is visual and that 25% of all school children have a vision issue (Essilor Foundation). Therefore, if a child has undiagnosed or untreated vision issues, the effect can be detrimental to their education and future success. With children already having many struggles to overcome to be successful in school, Vision Is Priceless is dedicated to making sure a treatable vision problem is not one of them. For children will barriers to access to vision care, Vision Is Priceless provides free comprehensive eye exams and prescription glasses. It costs $100 for an eye exam and can cost over $100 for prescription glasses. Donations make it possible for us to provide these services free-of-charge.
