Project Description

Neighbor To Family, Inc. - Jacksonville is an accredited, evidence-based sibling foster care program serving the local community in Duval, Nassau, Clay, & St. Johns counties. With a mission of keeping siblings together while building healthier families and stronger communities, NTF-Jacksonville strengthens the local communities it serves by recruiting professional foster caregivers, providing dependency case management, therapeutic services, and facilitating evidence-based nurturing parenting services to the clients it serves. Each service and program is unique in helping the sibling bonds to remain intact and family relationships to heal.

When children are removed from their parents and come into care, their clothes and belongings are often placed in garbage bags. Their clothes may be limited, dirty, broken, and/or too small for them. Young babies often come with limited supplies and tremendous need, including diapers, wipes, formula, baby items, etc. During visits with their families, the parents often come unprepared in need of diapers, wipes, etc. to even change the children.

At NTF-Jacksonville, we want to be prepared to receive children that come into care with open hearts and the right supplies; i.e. toiletry items, diapers, wipes, formula, clothes, car seats, backpacks, school supplies, and luggage. We want to ease some of the children’s fears and welcome them into their new, temporary homes.

It is for these reasons that I ask for your help. This project will help supplement the cost of purchasing supplies, by providing funds to buy the extra items needed to ensure each child has all of the supplies they need to have a great start while in foster care.
